Netflix announced the sixth season of Longmire last week and also revealed the show will be coming to an end.
The sixth and final season of Longmire will consist of 10 episodes that will premiere on Netflix in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand sometime in 2017.
Longmire is a crime thriller set in Big Sky country, that is based on the Walt Longmire mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson. T. After being cancelled by A&E after 3 seasons, Netflix picked up the show and continued it for a 4th, 5th, and now it’s 6th seasons.
Netflix and the production team have returned to mexico to film and confirmed the news with the following statements:

Most importantly, we’re committed to delivering a dynamic and satisfying conclusion to our fans that rewards their longtime loyalty,” said executive producers Greer Shephard, Hunt Baldwin and John Coveny.

There has been no better team to work with on this show than Greer, Hunt and John, and their tremendous cast and crew, and we have every confidence that they will have a satisfying conclusion to this revered series. We are grateful to them and our friends at Warner Bros, who have been tremendous partners,” said Cindy Holland, Netflix VP of original content.
