More Site Blocks Coming To Australia!

After working so hard to have site-blocking legislation passed in Australia, many predicted it was only a matter of time before rightsholders returned to have more sites blocked.

Today confirmed exactly that when movie company Village Roadshow, initiated new legal action against over 40 domains.

Village Roadshow, backed by five movie studios including Foxtel, Disney, Paramount, Columbia, and 20th Century Fox, are seeking to block access to some of the most popular torrent, streaming, and direct download sites available Down Under.

Last December the same companies fought and won a landmark case in Australian Federal Court that resulted in more than fifty Aussie internet providers being ordered block access to pirate sites. Initial sites that were blocked included The Pirate Bay, Torrentz, TorrentHound, IsoHunt, streaming service SolarMovie, aswell as dozens of proxy and mirror sites.

In their application to the courts this time around, Roadshow is requesting that the same ISPs block 41 sites, using previous methods established in the earlier Pirate Bay case.

To help keep user’s in Australia and around the world stay updated on current and future website blocks, we’ve posted the full list of sites below.
