Popular streaming website 123Movies.to has been suffering plenty of downtime this passed week, leaving many of it’s visitors wondering exactly what is going on with the site.
The site’s operators are staying relatively quiet on the exact reason for the outage, but they did confirm however, that 123Movies has officially rebranded themselves as GoMovies. When asked by TorrentFreak what the reason for the name change was, a site representative confirmed it was to help set themselves apart from many fake clone sites and proxies that have been popping up with unauthorized use of their brand.
While 123Movies has been rebranded with a new domain name and logo, the rest of the site is pretty well the same, so things should look familiar.
The old 123movies.is and 123movies.to domain names are now linking to the new GoMovies one. This is to ensure users are still able to find the site for the time being.
The team confirmed the change on its official Twitter account with the following tweet:
our new official domain is GoMovies.to . Please help us to spread the words. Thank you #123movies— 123Movies (@123MoviesUK) March 29, 2017
EverydayElectronics is keeping a close eye on the situation and will release any developments as they come in.
