With the recent disappearance of the once popular torrent site IsoHunt.to, multiple malicious clones site have been popping up to take advantage of the situation.
Since the official site went down a few weeks ago, a site with a very similar name has started gaining traction. Users who search for IsoHunt through search engines like Google are now directed to IsoHunts.to.
EverydayElectronics can confirm that IsoHunts is actually a malicious clone site that features fake torrents, and malicious software. According to TorrentFreak, “The site directs you to download a binary client, which is little more than an ad.”
Although they look similar in name and design, the site is merely a dangerous ripoff of the original. IsoHunts.to has nothing to do with the official Isohunt website or team.
At EverydayElectronics our goal is to help users stay safe and avoid any unnecessary traps online, which is why we choose to shine a spotlight on such issues. We highly recommend using a premium VPN, such as ExpressVPN, to ensure you are protected while downloading torrents.
